Kagiso Lediga
v
ACTOR / COMEDIAN / WRITER / PRODUCER
You might recognise him as the new CEO of Nando’s, but he actually has a real job as a comedian… (Tough crowd.)
Regarded as one of the country’s pioneering black comedians, and given his invaluable contribution to local comedy, Kagiso Lediga has earned his right to be called a South African comedy legend.
Born in Pretoria, he went on to study English and Drama at UCT where orientation week gave him his first taste of stand-up comedy. Since 1998 he has extended his talents to become an acclaimed actor, producer, writer and television presenter. He has performed at all the major comedy events on the local calendar and abroad.
He has performed in a couple of films, most notably South African film Bunny Chow, which he wrote and co-starred in. The film won awards at the Toronto, Los Angeles, Sydney and Melbourne Film Festivals, and earned him the Best Actor Award at the Cape Town Film Festival. He’s also the co-executive producer and director of international Emmy Award nominated TV show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola.Yeah. E-m-m-y.
Clearly, this oke’s got jokes. He’s a real stand-up guy. We’ll show ourselves out now…
